Vice President of Finance

Mission & Vision

The Finance Committee of the YPGA assumes a pivotal role in the meticulous management of over $10,000 in funds, strategically apportioned amongst our seven constituent committees. Our mandate encompasses the judicious allocation of these funds as well as the cultivation of financial resources from both internal and external entities. This strategic endeavor is geared towards empowering the committees to effectively realize their objectives in fostering and championing the interests of the postgraduate community.

Past & Ongoing Initiatives:

Successful Fundraising Efforts

  • Secured ~$3500 in funds for the annual YPGA symposium (2023)

  • Increased internal YPGA funds from $7,000 to over $10,000.

Diversified Fundraising Scope:

  • Exploring avenues to expand fundraising efforts towards projects being pursued by all constituent committees

Budgeting & Expenditure Oversight:

  • Collaboratively working with each committee to establish pragmatic budgets, ensuring resource alignment with objectives.

  • Diligently monitoring and documenting expenditures to uphold financial accountability.

Robust Financial Tracking:

  • Instituting a comprehensive finance tracker for meticulous and transparent record-keeping.

Event Expenditure Authorization:

  • Rigorously reviewing and approving expenses associated with YPGA events to guarantee fiscal prudence.
